Our Operations
The Emergency Department at Akademiska sjukhuset receives approximately 55,000 visits annually. The emergency department is open around the clock and is tasked with providing specialized healthcare for acutely seriously ill or injured patients. We work in teams and therefore value good collaboration and professional treatment towards both patients and colleagues. Your Mission
As a nursing assistant, you will work together with the care teams to ensure that patients receive good care while they are at the emergency department. The focus of the mission is to meet the patient's needs for basic nursing and monitoring of vital parameters, NEWS. As a nursing assistant, you will meet relatives and patients in crisis and be a present support. In the emergency department, we handle reasons for seeking care within several medical specialties such as internal medicine, surgery, and orthopedics.
Your Qualifications
For the summer of 2026, we are looking for you who are a nursing student or medical student. As a nursing student, you should have completed semester 1 and as a medical student semester 3. Previous experience in nursing within somatic care is an advantage. We place great emphasis on personal suitability where qualities such as being secure, empathetic, good at communicating, and having the ability to collaborate are highly valued. Work in an emergency department is unpredictable; calm periods can suddenly turn, and the work becomes intense. Please read more about our operations at www.akademiska.se (http://www.akademiska.se).
We Offer
Hourly paid employment as a nursing assistant with at least 7 weeks of full-time work scheduled during the summer of 2026. Rotating position. Start date by agreement. Recruitment is ongoing. You will receive an introduction with training and guidance in patient-related work. Training in the spring will be applied.
